What is the projection mode of your Epson projector? How do you want your projector to display images? These are some of the basic questions that you need to tackle while installing the projector in your home or office.

There are many modes of projection given by an Epson projector to let you choose the ideal one according to your situation.

For instance, if you need a portable projector that can be used for conferences wherever required then a tabletop projector would be the best thing for you that can be handy for moving to places.

But if you want to get your projection fixed at a point then a ceiling projector is the best thing. Ceiling or mounted are the most common projectors and the suitable for all needs.

But using a ceiling-mounted projector requires a couple of settings to give the desired display. This is because when a projector is mounted with the ceiling it is designed to project at the front and the image will be either horizontal in case of a rear-projection mode or the default front projection with a mirrored display in front of you.

Both of these projection modes (Front and Rear) are not suitable for a wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted projector. The ideal display for a ceiling projector is an upside-down display that is not given by default with the Epson projector.

So, what can be done to get this upside-down imagery? This is not a very complex problem and you can easily switch between the projection modes to meet your needs.

You can flip a horizontal display into an upside-down by following a few general instructions that apply to most of the brands including Epson projectors.

Before starting with how to flip the projector image upside down Epson, it is important for you to know about the projection mode of the Epson projector and then choose the best one for you.

Projection Modes: Epson Projector:

Below given are the four modes that come built-in with the Epson projector and you can change them whenever the need arises.

  1. Front Projection
  2. Rear Projection
  3. Front Ceiling Projection
  4. Rear Ceiling Projection

Now let’s see in detail what each of these projection modes means.

1. Front Projection:

Front projection is the default mode of most projectors. It is designed for the table front projection. You can place a projector on a table of a heightened surface and let the image be displayed in front of the projector like a wall. The front projection is suitable for low heights.

2. Rear Projection:

The rear projection mode is designed for translucent screens that need horizontal projection. An overhead projector might be the best example of a rear projection. In Epson projectors, rear projection mode gives a horizontal display at the back of any translucent screen.

3. Front Ceiling Projection:

The front ceiling projection mode is the one we are looking for. It lets you project the images upside down like from a ceiling to a wall. The images lie from top to bottom and give the best display for home theater and office presentations.

4. Rear Ceiling Projection:

Rear ceiling projection mode gives you an upside-down image that is projected from behind a translucent screen. In other words, this projection mode combines the rear projection with the top to bottom display like in a ceiling or wall-mounted projector.
